So you want to join sMi? Well who wouldn't. But it's not an easy process as we're looking for very specific qualities in our recruits. Keep reading below if you're ready to put in the work to join.
To join the team you will need to catch our sMEye. The Eye is firey, all-seeing (even cloaked) and sits atop a formidable charred spire.
The Eye observes
applications: (Please post on
StarCraft Chat until the new system is in place)
The Eye observes gaming (it helps if the games involve sMi members)
The Eye observes the sMi. forums
Once we take note of your existence we'll want you to play some games against sMi. players. If your skill matches what we want and you fit in with the other members, then a recruiter will start a vote on you. If you get a majority of yes votes from all of the recruiters (listed below), you're on the team.
Once you're on the team you will be set as a "Fresh Fish", which is a status that you keep until we feel you are truly part of the family. At that point you'll become a regular member.
This is our chance to make sure we have no buyers remorse.
We don't have a set ladder rank that you must attain. This isn't a quantitative process. We're evaluating you by our standards, not Blizzard's. If we think you're ready, then you're ready. Simple as that.
A general guideline is that you should at least hold your own vs players in the blizzard's top 200.
In sMi we value personality just as much as skill. If you're insanely gosu but a total asshole, you won't be part of sMi. Check out the
Team Rules to get a better sense of what we're looking for.
